The house from UP!

If you haven’t already gone to the nearest theater and shelled out your $10 to see Up then you are missing out on the best animated movie since Finding Nemo.

Spurred on by the folks over at Slate in their weekly Culture Gabfest, I rounded up a friend and dropped in to the 7:00pm showing of Up in 3d over at Atlantic Station (though admittedly we were supposed to go to the 7:30 normal showing, we showed up early and found out there was a 3d version going on at 7-o’clock and managed to slip in just as the previews were ending).

This movie was just great! The characters had depth and believability, the sytlization of the animation was just perfect, and the humor was of such a great level that all the adults in the theater were laughing more than the kids! Don’t let the simplistic previews fool you, Up is beyond a shadow of a doubt worth every penny you’ll pay to see it in theaters.

I give Up two thumbs in the same direction, and if I had a third one, it’d be right beside them.
